Globalization is a familiar term of today, and in our society it is vitally important that our children are globally competitive, as they are competing for careers across the globe against children from every other country of the world. So how do we make our children competitive?
During a recent course on globalization there were a few crucial points observed:
- We need to teach children to learn how to be learners.
- They need to be able to solve problems creatively as well as logically.
- They need to be able to use technology and stay on the forefront of new technologies.
- And they must be able to work as part of a globally diverse team, linked via technology, across the globe.
We Americans are very culturally knowledgeable; however what you notice, as a difference between our education and that of our overseas counterparts is that they tend to be more linguistically versed than ourselves, knowing, often more than one language.
So our central question on this BLOG is how do we prepare our children for the 21st Century?
